RIBA President visits Rivergreen Centre

Sunand Prasad, the newly elected president of the Royal Institute of British Architects, visited the region yesterday and found time for a tour of the Rivergreen Centre.

The Rivergreen Centre, a worthy RIBA 2007/2008 award winner, is considered the best example of sustainable practice in the North East and Mr Prasad commented; “I am delighted to be visiting the Rivergreen Centre in Durham as it is a great example of the direction in which we should be moving and demonstrates that the North-East is taking a lead in this area.”

Mr Prasad was in the region to speak to a professional audience at Northumbria University on the role architects, developers, engineers and building contractors can play in addressing climate change.
